Welcome to Rout 81 Lodge, a locally owned motel where comfort, cleanliness and genuine hospitality come first.

We're proud to be giving this property a fresh new beginning. Renovating and updating our rooms to create a comfortable place for guests to stay, whether you’re visiting the aera for a night, a weekend, or a little longer. Our 17-unit boutique lodge offers a verity of accommodations. Conveniently located near I-90 between Sioux Falls and Mitchell.

As we continue improving the property, were excited to welcome new guests and build a motel that feels like a dependable home away from home.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we can’t wait to have you here!

At Route 81 Lodge, we preserve and look after our boutique motel in Salem, and we look after the people who stay in them.
We're big on the small things: a spotless place when you walk in, someone local who answers when you message, and recommendations that take you past the tourist trail.

We believe a great stay doesn’t have to be complicated. Our goal is simple: Provide a comfortable room, clean space, and a friendly place you’ll feel good coming back to.
